Overview
The workshop supervisor is responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the workshop. The manager is responsible for purchase of materials, fixings and fastenings and tools to ensure the smooth progression of workshop task. Maintain records of what work is carried out and by which team members. Provide the management team with a weekly stock report including low stock levels and re-ordering requirements The workshop supervisor is responsible for the quality of the work carried out and performs incoming and outgoing inspection on all vehicles and equipment kits or delegates that work. In a potentially dangerous working environment, the supervisor is responsible for maintaining safe working practises, during busy periods, the workshop supervisor is required to undertake in-vehicle installations and assist the throughput of work through the workshop. Main Duties and Responsibilities: Planning and monitoring work within the workshop, supervising the technicians-20% Undertaking installation and kit production jobs-20% Repairing faulty system components like printers and CPU's-20% Managing stock levels (e.g. materials and tooling) 10% Report on workloads, participating in project reviews and working with project managers and team leaders on system enhancements - 10% General administration and record-keeping 10% Quality control 10% Special Working Conditions - The post holder will have to work out of hours occasionally - The post holder will be responsible the health and safety of technicians. - The post holder will have to be willing to work Saturday Mornings Person Specification Knowledge The minimum requirement for the post of workshop supervisor Background in IT or Electronics Repair services, for example, an IT field Service Engineer or an Electronics repair engineer working in a repair lab with PCB's Have at least 2 years' experience as a supervisor / manager Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual Aptitude Essential: Able to make critical decisions under pressure, while maintaining the safety and well being of the staff he/she is responsible for. IMPORTANT NOTE This role has virtually zero to do with the motor trade, our solution whilst installed in a Black Taxi, it is a computer based credit card payment system.
