Overview

My client develops and provide technology and services that make London's regulated taxi operations more efficient, modern and profitable. They have a high excess of the London fleet making them the largest payment provider in London. Due to expansion and growth they are looking to hire a Workshop Supervisor. The workshop supervisor is responsible for the day to day safe and efficient running of the workshop. The manager is responsible for purchase of materials, fixings and fastenings and tools to ensure the smooth progression of workshop task. Maintain records of what work is carried out and by which team members. Provide the management team with a weekly stock report including low stock levels and re-ordering requirements The workshop supervisor is responsible for the quality of the work carried out and performs incoming and outgoing inspection on all vehicles and equipment kits or delegates that work. Main Duties and Responsibilities for the Workshop Supervisor: Planning and monitoring work within the workshop, supervising the technicians-25% Undertaking installation and kit production jobs during busy periods-35% Managing stock levels (e.g. materials and tooling) 10% Report on workloads, participating in project reviews and giving advice to project managers and team leaders 10% General administration for personnel and record keeping 10% Quality control 10% Special Working Conditions: The post holder will have to work out of hours occasionally • The post holder will be responsible the health and safety of technicians. • The post holder will have to be willing to work Saturday Mornings Person Specification: The minimum requirement for the post of workshop supervisor Have at least 2 years’ experience as an auto electrician /Mechanic Have at least 2 years’ experience as a supervisor / manager Have experience working with a computer and web browsers Skills for the Workshop Supervisor: Understanding of auto electrics or 12 volt DC electrical systems Ability to work as part of a team or as an individual Aptitude Essential: Able to make critical decisions under pressure, while maintaining the safety and well being of the staff he/she is responsible for. We also try to operate a Christmas special where we run on a skeleton staffing and each employee normally gets three of the four days over the Christmas break off - for example this year in each team between the four in each team one person will be covering one of the following days (24th, 27th, 30th & 31st) these are NOT holidays and staff members have to be available to cover if another team member is ill.
