Overview
Title : Senior Network Engineer Duration : 1 Month (Possible Extension) Location : Huntingdon Inside IR35 Role Overview: Intelligent Resource is currently recruiting for Senior Network Engineer j oin one of their key project teams in Huntingdon On client's instructions, due to the urgency, nature and length of the assignment, the successful candidate must have current security clearance (SC Clearance) to a high level. Role Overview The scope is really to take the existing LAN and WiFi designs (LLDs), review and update them to reflect the in place solution and any new elements of the technical provision we will implement to enable our new service. Needs to co-ordinate with the WAN architect (and interface with the WAN LLD); the Incumbent network designer and the New service to make sure it all technically works and is fit for purpose. The resulting documents will need to be updated following quality review by the Technical Design Authority; and presented to our end customer for approval. Manage necessary resources for the expected production of the enterprise network in accordance with the latest rules, contracts with suppliers and service contracts. Provides second level assistance, with respect to quality, productivity and security, in order to ensure continuity of service to users. Key Responsibilities To be an integral member of the support team. To investigate and resolve assign incidents. To action approved and designed changes. To communicate with customers to provide progress reports on Incidents. To identify and report on areas of known problems. To monitor relevant queues within the incident reporting tool. Measures and optimizes infrastructure network performance. Administers IT resources and networks (users, quality of service, site security, IT networks, telecommunications infrastructure, transverse applications) Provides Tier 2 support, in the framework of service level agreements (SLA) Must regularly inform the Team Leader or another manager regarding work and projects progress. Essential Skills Network Security Engineer will have over 3 years relevant industry experience in a Service Provider environment. Someone who is logical and can understand design documents, take the existing LAN and WiFi designs (LLDs) and update them to reflect the new technical provision. Candidate needs to coordinate with the WAN LLD provider and the Incumbent network designer and the service Architect to make sure it all technically works and is fit for purpose. Understanding of network security principals and basic network principles including: Firewalls Web Application Firewalls Load Balancing Routing and Switching WAN and LAN technologies Telephony and Video WiFi Direct experience in two or more the following security platforms: Firewalls - Palo Alto, Cisco ASA, Juniper, Checkpoint Web Application Firewalls - F5 ASM. Load Balancing - F5 LTM, Cisco ACE, Citrix Netscaler. Industry Standard Qualifications such as: Cisco CCNA/CCNP Security / Switching & Routing.
