Overview
Position: Project Engineer Location: South West England Salary and package: up to 65,000 depending on experience with full package consisting of a company car or car allowance, pension, private medical, holiday etc A unique opportunity has arisen for a Project Engineer to work on one of Europe's largest construction projects. With an estimated value in the billions, this is very much a once in a career opportunity. This is a stable and long term project, approaching peak production phase. To be considered for the position of Project Engineer, it is anticipated that you hold extensive and demonstrable experience in leading the technical delivery across significant RC Structures. This role would suit an experienced Section Engineer, Senior Engineer or Sub Agent who has a strong background in the Main Contractor. Your experience does not necessarily have to have been gained in the UK market. Key to our client is your knowledge of complex structures. It would be beneficial if you held IEng or CEng status with the ICE. You will be responsible for leading a team of Engineers (potentially up to eight) in the delivery of a structure or structures with values of up to £80m. You will ensure engineering, quality and technical compliance in line with the specification. These are no ordinary structures and rebar content will be around 400 kilos per m3 of concrete. Core responsibilities will include: -Hold overall responsibility for all technical aspects of your work packages -Production and development of method statements, risk assessments, task sheets and procedures, environmental procedures -Assist all engineering levels with construction methods and practice -Drive high quality and effective procurement processes across materials and services -Manage productivity and delivery of the team to the required scope and specifications. -Provide all required reporting information to the Project Manager To be successful in this role, it is anticipated that you: -Ideally, hold at least 5 years experience in heavy civil engineering projects -Have very strong experience in building reinforced concrete structures. -Be experienced in managing sub-contractor delivered scope as well as directly delivered works -Experience of managing multi-level engineering teams in project environments -Hold a degree or Masters in civil engineering, or equivalent
