Principal Supportability Engineer
Overview
The Opportunity An opportunity has arisen within MBDA’s Customer Support & Services (CSS) organisation for a Principal Supportability Engineer to take charge of work packages associated with influencing product design for support, and for developing cost-effective support solutions for our global customers. Working in an integrated project team environment during the product’s design and development phase, you will be able to exploit your through-life support knowledge and capabilities, as well as interpersonal and communication skills, to satisfy customers’ support requirements and MBDA’s support-related business objectives. The Role Managing small to medium sized work packages on behalf of the project Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) Manager. Acting as a focus within the project for progressing design for support objectives, to include development of supportability requirements and the exploitation of new and existing technologies to facilitate through life support. Developing the optimum support solution for the product, typically within an Asset Availability Service context, while taking account of all stakeholder requirements and needs. Identifying the logistic support resource requirements and liaising with relevant project, business and CSS areas to facilitate their development. Supporting CSS functional improvement activities at both a national and international level What’s in it for you? You must be an experienced engineer with a track record in the application of Supportability Engineering techniques such as level of repair analysis, reliability centred maintenance, task analysis, life cycle cost analysis. You must have a sound knowledge of ILS standards such as Def Stan 00-600 or ASD S3000L, with an understanding of the customer environment, structure and processes. You must be able to solve challenging problems within tight timescales and budgets. You will be flexible and able to adapt to rapidly changing requirements and priorities. You must have the capability to proactively network, build trusting relationships and positively influence others in order to achieve your objectives.
