UX Designer - NHS SBS Leeds Job Type - Permanent, Full Time Package - up to £40,000 3% flex fund, pension, life assurance, annual leave (25 days bank holidays) Working Hours - 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday Role Overview This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing team and collaborate with others to develop solutions for NHS SBS employees and customers. You’ll work in an agile squad to deliver the product roadmap, reduce technical debt and remove bugs. You’ll collaborate closely with a wide range of people on a daily basis including other developers, business analysts, UX designers and product owners. You’ll be a great communicator with strong interpersonal skills alongside the technical and design know-how. Experience working with product and UX colleagues to translate ideas into working, efficient, impactful software is essential. You’ll also be open to learning new things and helping others learn in your area of expertise. About Us Established by the department of Health and Social Care in a unique Partnership with digital experts Sopra Steria, we deliver modern corporate services to the NHS with the main objective to save money and time, as well as continuing to provide world class patient care. Today we provide finance, procurement, IT and employment services to around 40% of the NHS. Key Responsibilities Your role will be hands on in problem solving, translating business requirements into clean, intuitive experiences. You will be an expert in creating and crafting UX material based on research you have gathered and use it to consult with our clients, providing direction to a range of projects within Sopra's client portfolio. Working at the senior level, your role will also bring in aspects of team leadership, using your experience to inspire others and bring energy to new projects. You'll be working across all things UX, from groundwork research through to rapid prototypes UX research for multi-platform projects, optimizing user journeys and product interactions Manage multiple projects from prototype to launch in a fast paced environment Proactively look for opportunities for reuse, to adhere to style guides and uniformity within and across projects Participate in multi-disciplinary project teams, liaising between creative, technology and business teams Present and defend design deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders Working in collaboration with passionate people in an open and creative environment Relaying project framework to the digital design team Providing inspiration and motivation to the UX team Promote design thinking and advocate design principles and best practices Mentor junior UX designers Desired Experience 4 years of industry experience and strong work samples which demonstrate your process and the finished project Demonstrable knowledge, experience in and passion for user centred design practices for web, service or software development. Proven experience of understanding user needs for web content, tools and transactional services, especially those with the most complex user journeys. Experience introducing and establishing design thinking practices in an organisation. Be able to sketch and prototype on paper and in HTML Be able to work quickly in an agile environment Be able to explain ideas in a way that other people understand Welcome the constructive criticism of their work and be able to constructively review the work of others Know how to interpret user research and use this to develop ideas Be able to write content for user interfaces Put forward the case for design with a product manager Collaborate on designs with a developer Engage the whole multidisciplinary team with the design process Lead and design and facilitate workshops with users and stakeholders Reasons why you should join us: We’re big, really big.
