Job Description Due to continuing growth, we now have a requirement for a Business Risk Officer to join our Personal Finance team on a permanent basis. The key task of the Business Risk Officer is to undertake specialist risk control activities within Personal Finance, including leading activities to test, measure and enhance control effectiveness. Working as part of the first line risk team, you will deliver a fit for purpose risk management framework and provide guidance to the business in relation to risk identification, assessment, mitigation and monitoring. Key Responsibilities To manage the delivery of business unit RCSAs covering operation, conduct and regulatory risks; To provide hands on support to business areas to ensure they have in place appropriate risk assessments, control assessments and action plans in place and provide control recommendations to business areas so that risks are managed effectively; To act as an SME as required on complex technical matters relating to all areas of risk that are the responsibility of the first line;To drive a culture of effective control within the business areas; To prepare monthly risk reports to governance forums to facilitate accurate and consistent reporting of risk; Maintain comprehensive procedures and records which meet business and regulatory requirements. Qualifications Essential Experience Expert knowledge of First Line of Defence risk processes and their application; Broad understanding of risk management principles within financial services; Excellent communication skills both written and verbal; Effective problem solving and influencing skills; Ability to assess risks that may arise and the impacts to the business and find solutions that will work with business stakeholders.
