Band 5/6 Occupational Therapist Locations: London Permanent £24,500 to £36,000 (Negotiable) Spinwell Global is looking to recruit MULTIPLE Occupational Therapist for our client. The OT is responsible for the delivery of effective Occupational Therapy services across multiple sites for adults residing in community rehabilitation units who present with learning disabilities and complex needs. The Occupational Therapist (Band 5/6 equivalent) will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team as an autonomous professional according to the College of Occupational Therapy ‘Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct’ and the ‘Health Professions Council Regulations’. To receive delegated referrals from Lead OT, independently manage and prioritise that case load. To work autonomously and independently with access to sessional, clinical supervision. To devise, implement and evaluate treatment programmes. To complete comprehensive assessments of clients, using clinical reasoning to select appropriate assessment techniques which lead you to identify the client’s strengths and needs. This will involve seeking and sharing personal and potentially sensitive information with the client. To agree appropriate and realistic goals for treatment with the client and so produce a comprehensive treatment plan in order to achieve these goals. To delegate appropriate case load to Occupational Therapy Assistant/s (OTA), helping prioritise and ensure programmes of therapeutic activities are implemented. To assist with developing and delivering relevant OT training as part of the internal training programme. To ensure personal training is completed on an annual basis. To be a proactive member of the multi-disciplinary team and other agencies (e.g. Social services, Voluntary agencies) ensuring that effective communication and liaison takes place at all times. To be a qualified OT, HCPC registration and membership of the British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT). Relevant experience working as an OT, with LD or in a secure setting EXPERIENCE • A minimum of six months postgraduate OT clinical experience. • Previous experience in a clinical learning disability/mental health setting. • Evidence of commitment to ongoing professional development. • Ability to reflect and develop own practice. • Ability to contribute towards the training of other staff/students. • Providing clinical supervision to others. • Experience in secure/forensic setting. • Research experience beyond undergraduate training. • Experience within social services.
