Job Title: Commercial Trading Underwriter - Property & Liability Location: Bristol Package: £35,000 - £45,000 Bonus Package Industry: Insurance Underwriting Job Type: Permanent _________________________________________________________________________________ A global, A-rated insurance provider is seeking to expand the trading team in Bristol by appointing an experienced underwriter to trade mid-corp. business with the South West regions national and provincial broking firms. The Company ·Financially stable and respected globally for their entrepreneurial approach, the business is looking to build on recent strong results. ·With a strong appetite to trade in the UK regions, the business believes in a strong product set and is driven by quality, rather than price and volume. ·This is an opportunity to join a business that rewards performance through career progression and attractive bonuses. The Role ·As part of the regional trading team, your role will be to expand market-share in the mid-corp. space, working with the South West region's larger indecent and national broking houses to win profitable, long term business. ·The role is an old fashioned trading role, writing a mix of new and renewal business by assessing each case on its individual merits and making sound underwriting decisions. ·The role is targeted with growth, but this must be underpinned by sound, solid underwriting disciplines. ·The role carries an authority to make decisions and the freedom to manage your own case load and broker panel, getting out into the market. You ·You will be an experienced underwriter with a track record of growth in the Yorkshire market, having written property and casualty business with the brokers in the region. ·Good technical knowledge is essential as is the drive and motivation to get into the market and trade. ·ACII qualification, or work towards is advantageous, although not essential.
