There is an opening to join the Technical Services team who are responsible for a variety of services within the larger Advanced Solutions umbrella. The primary focus of the team is to support Tier 2 customers, deliver hybrid cloud solutions and assist internal customers with any issues that may arise. The role demands you to be customer focused with a good knowledge of Cloud computing (AWS/Azure), Networking, Unix, Windows, VMware, an attention to detail and an enthusiasm to learn new technologies. GTT is a fast-paced, ever changing-company and there is plenty of scope for progression for the right applicant. Internal Departments they will interact with: The Technical Services team is a part of the larger client engagement team. The role requires you to work closely with networking, engineering, security and delivery teams to ensure customer problems are resolved quickly and efficiently and to assist in the smooth delivery of large complex solutions. Main Responsibilities: Above all, you will need to be able to quickly learn and understand new and existing products/services. Develop a relationship with customers to understand their environment, requirements and needs, provide advice, guidance and offer solutions. Work with internal teams to implement the solutions and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will be required to take part in the following: Validate network requests and provision networks in the GTT cloud environment Complete environment builds for new deliveries across multiple cloud solutions Migrate data and services into the GTT Cloud from customer’s sites and legacy GTT platforms Attend regular meetings with select customers Configuration of management tools Provide a high level of support to select customers Troubleshoot any issues which arise and offer solutions Help maintain the GTT Cloud template repository Participate in a 24/7 On-call rotation Continuously strive to improve internal processes and document issues to improve knowledge sharing throughout the team Ideal Criteria: GTT is an ever-changing company so being agile and adaptable is key to the role. You are able to communicate and work cooperatively with other internal teams. Essential Criteria: Demonstrable experience providing support for business critical production environments. Demonstrable experience deploying and managing Microsoft Windows and/or Linux servers in a virtualised environment. A solid foundation in x86 and virtualisation technology. A solid understanding of network fundamentals and MPLS. Knowledge of cloud services AWS, Azure, VMware etc. and experience in supporting/delivering hybrid cloud solutions. Desirable Criteria: Some exposure to Firewalls/SOC would be advantageous. Experience with cloud storage would be beneficial. Willingness to learn new technologies on your own time. Experience writing database queries and basic scripting (bash/python) would be advantageous. Other Similar Job Functions: Cloud Engineers with experience in AWS/Azure/Networking/VMware are desirable. We are also willing to invest people who don’t necessarily have the background in Cloud services but can demonstrate providing support at a high level with a willingness to learn and take the next step in their careers. Qualifications/Courses: Any VMware/AWS/Azure/Microsoft/Linux/Network/Security qualifications are beneficial. Hours/Travel/Shift: The working hours cover 08.00 am – 18.00 pm split into 3 shifts. 08.00 - 16.00, 09.00 – 17.00 and 10.00 – 18.00. Taking part in a 24/7 On-call rota is also a requirement. On-call hours cover 18.00 – 08.00 am weekdays and 08.00 – 08.00 weekends. Travel to other GTT offices or to visit customers may also be required.
