Overview
Production Manager £40,000 - £50,000 Colchester, Essex. Pursuit Resources Group are looking to recruit for the position of Production Manager, based in Colchester, Essex. Successful candidates will lead and develop the manufacturing team to ensure the efficient use of all manufacturing resources in order to achieve daily/ weekly/ monthly production targets. Always seek to improve efficiency, process control, and quality, through the delivery of new initiatives which utilise lean manufacturing principles. Drive each manufacturing department forward, enabling it to react to the changing demands of new product development. The main responsibilities for the job include: Manage 4 direct reports and a total production team of 170. Coordinate all aspects of production operations, to ensure that all targets are achieved. Lead the daily Production meeting ensuring efficient and effective collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including procurement, departmental management/supervision, and distribution. Utilise E.R.P and reporting software to forecast production demands and prepare and maintain production reports. Promote continuous improvement of product quality throughout the manufacturing process Implement, manage and evaluate operational processes and procedures, in accordance with the standards and procedures set out by the organisation. Actively participate in Time to Market, Product Development and Strategy meetings. Regularly liaise with the Company's Health and Safety Manager Lead the Joint Consultative Committee Meetings Direct and manage all Departmental Supervisors to ensure they are trained, developed and carry out their responsibilities to the required standards, establishing clear operational and project goals. Contribute to the formulation of the total production targets and develop operational strategies necessary to ensure their achievement. Develop and implement short and long term plans to ensure that the manufacturing unit has the necessary resources to meet the business objectives. Develop and obtain approval for manufacturing policies and capital investment programmes, which will ensure that manufacturing targets are achieved economically and attain projected profit. Overall responsibility for the implementation of safe methods of work, equipment and work environment in accordance with Health & Safety Legislation. Ensure FSC / ISO 9001is adhered to.
