Role: Young People Support Worker Location: Hereford, HR1 Work pattern: 37 hrs over 7 days in a shift pattern between their opening hours. Mon- Fri 9am - 10pm Sat - 12pm - 8pm Sun- 11am - 7pm Start date: ASAP Contract Type: Permanent Salary £20,555 I'm looking for Young People Support Worker to work for a local housing association. In this role you will be providing an excellent level of support and housing management to residents who are vulnerable young people, enabling them to sustain tenancy and maintain independent living. You will empower and inspire young people to engage with education, training and employment opportunities. Key Responsibilities To act as a key worker with individuals, providing regular, relevant and practical support. To contribute to the service development to successfully prepare Young People for independent living. To complete support plans and risk assessments for individuals as appropriate. To deliver group sessions to increase life skills To understand safeguarding procedures identifying and reporting safeguarding alerts where necessary. To manage voids, carry out referral assessments, carry out viewing and pre-termination inspections. Maintain accurate records, written and electronic, provide outcome data, case studies and contribute information to reports To follow housing and tenancy management procedures to : Maintain regular contact with residents to ensure effective tenancy management Complete tenancy inductions for all new residents and ensure residents understand their license. Ensure all non-eligible rent and service charges are paid by residents and assist with completion of welfare benefits. Issue warnings in accordance with procedures and license management Record and follow reporting procedures To carry out property inspections. Experience/Qualification: English and Maths at minimum of GCSE standard Relevant qualification in working with young people - desirable Relevant qualification in housing/care and support- desirable Experience of working with young people/vulnerable people in a community setting/supported housing. Sound knowledge of and application of safeguarding adults and children policy. Ability to listen to problems and identify solutions, ability to understand and manage relationships.
