Overview

Machine Controller We are looking for a Machine Controller to work for Gi group at MINI Plant Oxford. The role is to start ASAP. All candidates must be able to work shifts on a 3-week rotation: Mornings/Afternoons/Nights. The hours are 41.33 per week and pay rate is £19.81 per hour. Main duties Ensure booths and facilities are ready for production, including pre-operation checks cleaning, preventative maintenance and TPM Continually monitor booths and facilities for correct operation, Critical Quality Checks and technical issues Action and control changes and enhancements to booth parameters, facility set-up and modifications for new models Paint machine and robot profile and parameter programming and modifications for new models and process / quality related issues Continually monitor and act upon RFT and quality information, taking responsibility for current and ongoing issues Monitor and document technical issues, working with the maintenance department to resolve current and ongoing issues. Prepare shift reports and record / pass on technical, quality, production and process information Assist and drive the maintenance department with routine maintenance during planned maintenance windows and during breakdowns Control and perform the maintenance of the hand spray gun including spare parts (Issuing, Stock control and Re-ordering) Ensure the Clean Room, booths and surrounding areas are clean and well equipped at all times Work with sister departments (Maintenance, Paint Mix, Planning, Quality etc) to maintain volume and quality Build up and foster relationships with internal (Paintshop) and external (BIW\T&F) customers and departments Ensure all known defects are recorded on Kiss Q and bodies are rerouted to correct area Variety Cover hand spraying and other roles to support business needs Flexible working hours (Staggered break times / before and after shift preparation / cleaning and weekend Ensue adherence to safe working and good housekeeping practices Analyse and act upon audit, RFT and all relevant quality feedback and information (IE PS Utility Database) Control all Paint Machine, paint product and process issues maintaining the highest quality and volume Carry out and lead simple facility maintenance tasks unsupervised Understand logistical operations within area Difficulty Analysis of all appropriate data to identify trends and remedial actions Organise and control proactive and reactive measures to deal with quality, process and volume issues Decision making Ensure optimisation of plant/equipment, cycle time, process specifics and technical availability Demonstrate a proactive attitude to the TPM and maintenance role Carry out checks and feed back to PL's, own team and support functions Be self-motivated and able to make decisions without constant supervision To be able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines Skills/Education/Job Experience Self-motivated, self-confident, showing initiative and tackling issues in a proactive manner Capable of working to deadlines, having good communication skills with all levels of management Strong team working skills, business awareness and flexibilty PC literacy is a must with technical or engineering experience preferable Special knowledge of hand and machine paint application processes Gi Group are committed to protecting the privacy of all of our candidates and clients.
