Overview
A growing IT company looking for a Second Line Support Technician to work in on a busy service desk Your new company A growing business within the IT Sector, based in Guildford. They are looking for a Second Line Support Technician/IT Administrator to work on their busy service desk. This is a full time position with excellent progression opportunities & the potential to be put through multiple IT courses. Your new role Your day to day responsibilities will include answering support queries via phone and email, logging customer requests and incidents, diagnosing and rectifying technical problems and queries following first line fix criteria and where possible resolving at first call. You will also provide applications and infrastructure support to their growing client base and manage third party vendors and suppliers. You will set up new users' accounts and profiles and dealing with password issues as well as resolve incidents with printers, copiers and scanners and upgrade different types of software and hardware. You will work with senior engineers on escalated tickets and log and escalate calls with third parties where required, ensuring communication back to the customer. You will need a good command of Microsoft Exchange 2007, 2010, 2012 & Online and will be responsible of server administration including Windows Server 2008, 2012, Active Directory, File and Print services, shares and Group Policy. What you'll need to succeed To succeed in this role you will need exceptional customer service and communication skills. You will require enthusiasm and willingness to learn. You should have some experience using Microsoft Server and Desktop operating systems and basic network troubleshooting. As you will work within a team and will support other team members you will need excellent teamwork skills. You will need to be familiar with MS Office package and basic understanding of PC, laptop and tablet set-up and configuration. An A Certification or higher preferred but experience essential. You will require a minimum of 2 years experience in a help desk environment. What you will get in return In return you will get a competitive salary of up to £28,000 per year as well as pension and onsite parking.
