Overview

CAD / CAM Applications Engineer Manufacturing technology company with expertise at the forefront of CNC machining and complex software based manufacturing solutions. Their specialism is in “Adaptive Machining” and their experience spans several important industry sectors including Gas Turbines used in both Aerospace and Industrial Power Generation Applications with an established base of international clients. Currently looking to strengthen the team within the development department. The role will suit a dynamic individual from a manufacturing background looking for his or her next career step. Skills, Qualifications & Experience : · Engineering qualification (at least HNC level) · Good all round manufacturing experience in engineering industry sector (manufacturing or software development ideal) · CAD/CAM/CNC programming experience. Siemens NX preferred but other similar systems are relevant (e.g. Catia, Delcam, Openmind) · Complex surface modelling · On machine probing, offline measurement e.g. blue light scanning · Multi axis machining techniques (primarily 3, 4 & 5-axis milling) · Knowledge of machining difficult materials e.g. titanium and high temp nickel alloys · Programming experience in VB .net or other similar language would be an advantage but training can be provided for the right applicant · Excellent written and verbal communication skills · Highly computer literate · Candidates must be eligible to reside and work in the UK on a permanent basis · Full, clean UK driving licence Primary Duties: · Applications Engineering, programming and process development for a diverse range of complex industry requirements (mainly in aerospace and power generation) · Development of customised CAD/CAM solutions to solve process related manufacturing problems · Working within a team liaise with colleagues to develop and agree technical requirements and produce resulting technical specifications · Test, prove debug and optimise machining processes by using in-house multi-axis CNC machining centres · Role is based primarily at our Haddenham facility but travel to customer premises both in the UK and overseas will be required Other: · Represent the company by maintaining a courteous and professional relationship with customers, suppliers and colleagues · Ensure that all activities are performed safely within employment / health and safety legislation and in the manner prescribed by our ISO 9001 quality standard Character Traits: · Strong work ethic, able to work as a team player but also on own initiative · Methodical approach and good attention to detail, calm under pressure · Flexible approach to working hours, must be willing to travel This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89762250
