Overview
Infrastructure Engineer (135508) We are currently looking to add an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to our IT support team. This role would be working out of either our Manchester or Leeds office, but would join 3 other infrastructure engineers, in a wider IT support team of 10. The role is to provide support for all IT infrastructure including all Data Centres, Servers, Networks & Telephony. In addition, you’ll act as 3rd line support to any escalated IT service desk queries. You’ll need to proactively monitor the IT Infrastructure, troubleshoot and diagnose server and network issues to ensure that the IT infrastructure is secure and operates in line with security policies and controls. Given the technical requirement of this role, it’s important that you have the knowledge and experience with the systems you’ll be managing, which would include: Ideally 3 years experience in supporting and maintaining IT infrastructures Microsoft Windows Server 2008 - 2016 Capacity planning and optimisation Microsoft Hyper V or equivalent experience Active Directory Microsoft Exchange Clustering Technologies (Server Clusters, NLB) Scripting and automation skills (Powershell) Familiarity of networking topologies (switches, VLAN trunking etc.) LAN and WAN management Monitoring and managing the availability and scalability of resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, network storage systems IT Security including IDS and IPS systems. SAN Management (Netapp or EMC preferred) In addition, it would be great if you had some exposure to: Cisco / HP Pro Curve Fortinet / Citrix (Xen Desktop Preferred) Microsoft System Center / SQL Server Private Cloud Management / Data Centre Management Mimecast Skype for Business So why would you join us? In addition, there’s a salary between £35,000 - £40,000, good benefits and they’ll be progression opportunities - both more seniority but also in terms of learning and skill development as you go along.
