Overview
The client, an international fashion and beauty retailer, are based in South West (Chelsea) and they are looking for an Assistant Accountant/AP Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. They are looking for a candidate that has experience working in the retail sector, and has some previous line management experience. Client Details The client are one of the worlds largest retail and wholesale companies that specialise in the production and distribution fashion & beauty products around the world. Their head office is based in South West London (Chelsea) and they are looking for an Assistant Accountant/AP Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis. You will be heavily involved in the month end process as well as supervising two junior Accounts Payable Clerks. Description The successful Assistant Accountant/AP Supervisor will be: Supervising the AP team Balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring completeness, relevance and accuracy of all ledgers . Ensuring timely and accurate recording of financial transactions Review of posting transactions to ensure policy and accounting standard compliance. Involvement in month-end financial close processes (accruals, prepayments, bank reconciliation and depreciation). Managing stakeholder relationships (suppliers and customers) To develop a positive and productive working relationship with the finance team to drive a proactive and value adding finance function. Extract financial data for reconciliation or reporting purposes Answer queries from stakeholders and internal clients relating to payment processes, company credit card and expense claims. Execute payments to suppliers and cash requirement, obligation, payments and receipts Recommend process improvement Forecast cash management methods in order to increase operational efficiency Execute payments to suppliers and vendors. Assistance with any other finance department project. Other ad hoc projects as required Profile The successful Assistant Accountant/AP Supervisor will: Prior working experience maintaining books of account through to Trial Balance. Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, Summifs etc) Previous line management experience MUST have recent experience working within the finance function of a retail firm Have excellent communication skills Previous experience using SAP Business One (preferred, not essential) Job Offer Up to £35,000 (can be slightly flexible) Additional benefits
