Overview

It’s not all Roundabout’s here in Milton Keynes Did you know a £1.2 billion rail infrastructure programme is being constructed, providing a strategic route linking key economic activity between Oxford-Milton Keynes-Bedford-Cambridge ? We are currently supporting a main contractor who are delving this project as pure alliance and they are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join them from the programmes hub in Bletchley and play a key role in the delivery of this flagship rail project for the region. You will support the financial effectiveness and profitability of the overall project and work packages where required through diligent application of proper contractual and commercial practices, with the careful management of risk. Responsible For Maximise the financial effectiveness and profitability of the project through diligent application of proper contractual and commercial practices Efficiently direct and manage the commercial resource within their section, during the pre-construction & construction phases to ensure success of the project Contribute to the commercial function to ensure Alliance and business objectives are met, creating a team that adds value within the development and delivery process Ability to feedback to line manager on areas for development within Alliance strategy Negotiating with client representatives, sub-contractors and other consultants Plan, monitor and support operations, encourage ‘best practice’ Supporting the achievement of development needs of line reports are met and influencing the development of the wider commercial function Ensure the preparation of monthly contract review reports and project management accounts information Assist with the business planning process To encourage and develop a culture of contractual awareness and ensure that the full contractual entitlement is achieved by rigidly managing records, contractual notifications, change control, etc. To ensure that best commercial practices are identified, shared and implemented. Ideally you will come from either a rail or civil biased project and a member of RICS. Ideal opportunity if you’re looking for progression and a chance to make an early impact in the project.
