Overview

The role is responsible for providing the right resources at the right time and provide the planning function to a complex new MOD contract. It helps reduce risk, improve the probability of a successful delivery, improve customer satisfaction and supports senior Programme & Project managers. It ensures that we provide resource and planning in support of the wider project. What I'll be doing - your accountabilities / the skills you need: Create and maintain resource forecast demand and forward load projections based on the baselined project plans. Work with matrix resource owners to manage fulfilment of the resource demand Manage resource gaps, resource issues and replan impacts. Assure the project maintains an up-to-date library of roles and responsibilities and each member of the project team is mapped to an agreed role. Maintain an up-to-date project plan in MS Project, including milestones, gates, key deliverables and dependencies. Coordinate any lower level plans/schedules (test, design etc.) Provide 'formal' resource and schedule reports/packs for gates, boards and committees Provide 'governance and progress' reports/packs for internal meetings, gates and day-to-day progress Work closely with Project Managers to ensure that project reporting deadlines are met, and project documents are updated accurately, stored on the relevant public/team folders and reflect accurate status ensuring clear understanding of progress for the live project. Follow up action logs where appropriate with project team members. Track contract renewal and process extensions or exit process for external contractors Maintain the project resource tracker and emergency contact process Participation in Gateway reviews including Project closure and lessons learnt review to determine any corrective actions that could be taken to improve future programme/project delivery in terms of cost, quality and customer satisfaction. Able to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders (at peer level) to carry out the functions of the role. Maintain close liaison and strong relationships with key stakeholders in the operation of project delivery Great attention to detail and willingness to work within a fast paced and demanding environment. Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Visio beneficial but not essential Knowledge of Programme and Project Management, Service Management and Design (desirable). An externally recognised planning qualification, such as PRINCE2 or equivalent would be desirable. Maintain high standards of quality of work, personal conduct and punctuality at all times.
