Overview

Sphere Group has been retained by a fast-growing multi-national B2B technology company with strong recurring revenue and objectives to increase turnover four-fold over the next three to four years. Operating in an ever-growing market and having developed their own industry-leading software they are in an excellent position to achieve consistent organic growth. They are now looking to identify a Finance Director to take full ownership of all finance operations whilst being a key member of the senior management team. Reporting directly to the CEO and the rest of the Board this will be a hands-on no. 1 role within a listed organisation that will encompass full financial control and operations, commercial business partnering and a range of strategic projects. Key responsibilities: Full oversight of all internal and external accounting and reporting; including statutory accounts, management accounts, financial controls, budgeting & forecasting, management of a multi-currency consolidation and transactional operations Manage the interim and annual financial reporting and audit process along with the production of the ‘glossies’, encompassing all supporting financial analysis and front-end commentary Ownership of the long-term and short-term financial planning process, including the Annual Budget process and forecasts whilst developing FP&A capability where necessary Develop and deliver high quality, value-add management information to the Board and senior stakeholders across the organisation Business partner with operational management, providing commercial and strategic support around business planning, product development, contract negotiations, pricing models and tendering processes Stay current on regulatory, technical accounting, and reporting developments to ensure that the business complies with its Corporate Governance obligations as a listed company and provide insight across the Group, ensuring best practice throughout Management of treasury and financing activities including the ownership of banking relationships Support the CEO with Investor Relations activities, providing financial information and analysis to support market announcements and presentations, whilst dealing with queries from analysts and investors Leadership of a small Finance team, providing on-going training and career development whilst spotting opportunities to develop the overall performance and outputs of the function In conjunction with the Board, oversee and develop the strategy of the business whilst working on a range of corporate activities, constantly looking at ways to drive increased returns on capital and deliver shareholder value Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will be a hands-on qualified accountant who initially trained within a leading accountancy firm and has had previous experience of working in the technology sector or a closely related industry. You will be commercially sharp and strategically minded, being able to see the bigger picture whilst also having a good eye for detail. Furthermore, you will have excellent leadership skills as well as the communication skills and gravitas required to successfully operate at Board level.
