Mechanical Design Engineer
Overview
Our client is a leading industrial manufacturer, who as a result of internal promotion need to appoint an ambitious design professional. Reporting to the Design Manager you will be part of a team who are responsible for the design of all existing products, new products, and of their R&D operations. Specifically you shall work closely with the client to create a product that is fit for purpose, and is designed for manufacture. You will act as the technical liaison for the client and shall interact with all parts of the business to ensure successful delivery of the required products. Your role may involve an element of component sourcing, depending on the design requirements, and of site visits to the clients premises. You will be degree qualified (though an HNC/HND shall be considered), ideally in either Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering, and have first class communication skills. It is expected that you will have some experience of mechanical design, pressure calculations, volume flow rates and have been involved in creating BOM’s.
