A World leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of electronic musical instruments, digital recording equipment and amplifiers require a Senior Software Developer in Swansea Role Purpose Perform analysis, design, development, adaption, testing and implementation of software Ability to effectively contribute and work in a team guided by project documentation such as use case descriptions, business process models, system requirements, etc. Writing of software modules including tests and documentation. Testing and modifying systems to ensure that that they operate reliably, including fault finding, diagnosing and fixing. Providing technical support and responding to feedback. With your advanced skills in OO and SOLID practices and MVC frameworks, you can provide input in technical discussions to determine the best solution. Role Accountabilities Senior software developer ·Perform technical analyses for development tasks ·Assist lead developer with code reviews and testing delivered functionalities ·Advise less experienced team member on best practices Programming and Development ·Development of modules and full software components in a variety of languages and environments following best practices (SOLID OOP) ·Actively contributing to key business systems such as: -NAV Dynamics -EDM -SAM -Supporting Tools ·Developing integrations between systems in Europe but also across globe. ·Database programming and maintenance IT Planning & Execution ·Contributing to daily SCRUM meetings, monthly developers’ summits Preparing development and align with organisational vision and values Considering application security and measures for prevention of damage, loss, break-in, etc. Considering contingencies and fall-back when promoting code to live environment, prepare functional test plan Log and manage tickets through YouTrack ticket system Develop according to agreed standards and tools (Git, Upsource, etc.) Requirements: Experience, Skills & Qualifications required ·Apply scrum rules and keep your scrum dashboard up to date on a daily basis. ·Write technical as well as non-technical specifications based on user stories. ·Able to give feedback on technical analyses by less experienced developers. ·Understand and apply PHP coding framework (Symfony, Slim). ·Write SOLID object-oriented PHP according coding standards as well as efficient SQL queries. Able to share best practices with less experienced developers. ·Test new features in the shared development environment using realistic scenarios. ·Be self-reliant on supporting IT systems. ·Maintain and manage IT systems documentation as a guidance for support.
