An exciting new role is available for an experienced freight forwarding and quality/compliance assistant. The Assistant to the Operations and Quality Manager will have an import airfreight background together with good organisational/IT/Admin skills to assist the Ops Manager with general running of imports/quality and compliance of the department. Job Specification SME International Freight Forwarding company specialising in the aerospace and defence market. An opening has arisen for an Assistant to the Operations/Quality Manager, we require someone with an import background who is good at multi-tasking. This is a varied role and an opportunity for the right person to learn and evolve. On the job training will be provided. We offer an excellent salary, Hours of work are 9.00am to 5.30pm with an hour for lunch. 25 days paid holiday per annum, plus bank holidays. Due to the location the successful candidate will be a car driver with their own transport and able to commute to Colnbrook easily. Important the successful candidate can work to instruction and be able to multi-task and be versatile in their approach to daily duties which will vary from basic admin tasks to more complicated projects to include Operations/Compliance/and IT as and when needed. Skill Set: Import background, and awareness of Customs procedures Excellent MS Excel skills Database and reporting awareness, knowledge of Access an advantage but not essential Good communicator, telephone and written English General IT knowledge An eye for detail MS Outlook MS Word MS PowerPoint Tasks involve: Assisting in the day to day administration matters Customs reporting and management of information Quality Management of procedures and templates Checking of database input and report information Running reports and comparisons Research and obtaining information Management of staff training records Disaster Recovery
