Overview

My client is a start-up life sciences company delivering human-focused research and discovery. They work at the interface of engineering and cell biology to develop human biomimetic platforms for the testing and development of therapeutics for serious human diseases. They are currently seeking an HR Business Partner to join their growing team. THE ROLE Reporting to the CFO, the HR Business Partner will have responsibility for all aspects of day-to-day HR management for a rapidly growing Biotech, including: Partner with senior leadership and managers across the organisation, bringing the people expertise required to develop solutions aligned with the business's strategy to help the business deliver its strategic goals. Build strong, trusted relationships with leaders so they are attuned to the needs of colleagues and the impact that business decisions / change may have on them. Influence and drive cultural change through coaching, challenging and educating leaders in the organisation with the objective of creating a positive employee experience. Enhance organisational performance and drive talent initiatives: support managers and colleagues to help them reach their potential and deliver against individual, team and department goals that are aligned to our mission, vision and strategy. This will include coaching and providing feedback to managers and colleagues to promote business efficiency. Deliver a proactive and responsive HR service, providing professional advice to managers on a range of issues in an enabling capacity, questioning and challenging managers and colleagues to get to the root of people and business issues Lead and support individual HR cases, including absence management and health and well being Provide guidance on people practices (such as restructures) ensuring consistency in application and interpretation of people policy and processes Understand and interpret employment law and best practice to ensure advice, policy and procedure is accurate and up to date Qualifications & Selection Criteria CIPD qualified Entrepreneurial A proactive team player with a commitment to achieving successful outcomes Comfortable analysing data, understanding trends, and developing actionable recommendations Attentive to detail, organised and excellent at prioritisation Collaborative and an effective communicator Excellent at managing stakeholder relationships Experienced in colleague development and engagement, performance management, compensation and rewards, learning and development, talent planning and management A positive contributor to the change process, viewing change as an opportunity for continuous improvement Experience of building an HR function from a stand-alone position desirable
