As the Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to lead on several business-critical projects including optimisation of business platforms, system migration from legacy to revised, data warehouse and more. Although this is a full-stack role, the predominant focus will be based upon the back-end development (writing in PHP & MySQL) but will require you to guide and lead on the front-end development. This role will suit a Developer with strong commercial experience in either Magento or Laravel, with the company willing to provide training and support for candidates who are passionate about developing their knowledge and skills in the opposing area. In a team consisting of midweight & junior developers, this is a fantastic chance for a Senior Software Engineer to truly lead a team and become the focal point of the technical team within a growing organisation. Key Responsibilities for the Senior Software Engineer - Maintenance, improvements and continual optimisation of the current business platform. - Reliable and consistent improvements to the in-house data warehouse using open source technologies. - Lead on the back-end development whilst being capable of delving into the front-end requirements. - Mentor and lead a team of developers which includes midweight & juniors. Ideal Candidate - Previous commercial experience implementing OOP PHP & MySQL. - Ability to provide fresh and creative ideas to the development of new functionality within the business. - Outstanding knowledge and commercial experience of OOP PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript - Experience in either Laravel or Magento 1 with the willingness to learn the other. - Confident in the ability to use Git for version control. - Proficient users of front-end technologies & frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation As you’d expect, this opportunity will not be around for long… Apply online
