Overview

We're looking for a candidate to this position in an exciting insurance company. Provide oversight for Reserving, Planning, Pricing and Results Monitoring of the $5bn book of business working closely with the regional Chief Actuaries and group functions as appropriate. Carrying out price adequacy reviews and reviewing the appropriateness of the reinsurance programme to meet the ongoing needs of the business, as well as providing experience, expertise and insight into complex projects Ongoing analysis of the Specialty portfolio and available data to refine understanding of Specialty’s current and potential future exposures and oversight of critical cat aggregates Support and contribute to regional and group reserving responsibilities for Global Specialty business Provide constructive peer review and challenge of actuarial work and processes and proactively identify areas of improvement. Work closely with the Technical Pricing function to enhance pricing and modelling capabilities Collaborate with regional actuarial functions supporting a one-team ethos FIA, FCAS or strong actuarial background required; 15 years P&C experience Proven leadership, influencing and negotiation skills in a highly matrixed environment; able to resolve differences while maintaining positive working relationships Strong people management and leadership capabilities; Senior level experience in actuarial, underwriting and financial analysis highly desired Proactive individual, who challenges existing processes, can influence others and drive a process to a conclusion while meeting critical deadlines Comfortable in working across teams and driving forward initiatives through developing personal networks and powerful and influential communication. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with thorough attention to detail Strong project management skills and drive-for-results mentality, with the ability to multi-task and make decisions in a business context
