Sense has a great opportunity for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Support Worker in West Bromwich. This is a permanent role working either 22.5 or 37.5 hours per week. About the role… • As a Support Worker you will support and enable people to live the life they choose • You will be joining an established team and will form a close bond with the people we support. •You will be support an individual on a 1-1 basis in a beautiful house comprising of 5 bedrooms and a self-contained flat. We support 6 adults aged between 39 and 55 who are deafblind or have dual sensory impairments. • Supporting people to take part in some of our amazing arts and wellbeing activities and of course each individuals favourite activities. In return we will offer you… • £8.50 per hour • Bespoke, rewarding career pathways • Free parking (where available) • Extensive discount card scheme • Generous annual leave entitlement • Comprehensive induction and commitment to ongoing training • Enhanced disclosure cost covered About you… Essential: • Previous experience is not essential as full training will be provided • Able to demonstrate that you possess the right values and behaviours to enable you to make a difference to people’s lives • Flexibility, as working times do vary and may include weekends, evenings and sleep ins, we will however provide you with a rota in advance so you can plan your life accordingly. • Valid UK driving Licence Desirable: • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care • An awareness of multi-sensory and complex needs • Ability to communicate using British Sign Language (BSL) would be an advantage About Sense… For everyone living with complex disabilities.
