Human Factors Engineer A Human Factors Engineer is required to work on an twelve-month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Warton. This is an 12-month contract working for a leading UK defence company. Overview of the Human Factors Engineer contract role We need someone to contribute to our current approach where the use of psychophysiological monitoring devices can be used in a fast jet environment. We are seeking specialist knowledge regarding the application of psychophysiological monitoring devices and how to exploit the insight the data will offer in a real time environment. You will need to be a flexible team player well versed in human factors techniques with the ability to work successfully within multi-discipline engineering teams. You will also have excellent communication, resilience, tenacity and the skills to be able to work accurately to deadlines. Key skills required for the Human Factors Engineer Investigate the technology that will permit the use of psychophysiological monitoring devices. To develop a strategy to develop and mature the use of such devices so ultimately this approach can be used in a fast jet environment. To prove, through experimentation that the strategy can be delivered within the Tempest timescales. To discover whether it is feasible to monitor pilot psychophysiological responses during flight and use the data real time to inform the air vehicle's Artificial Intelligence system, thereby forming a pilot / Air Vehicle system where control can be fluidly passed from one entity to the other depending on the capabilities of each entity at any given time.
