We have an exciting position of an Inspector to join the engineering division of our client who is a highly regarded within the Precision Engineering industry in the Portsmouth area. This is a permanent position and a great opportunity for someone who is experienced in first off inspection using hand tools as well as CMM. The company is one of the leaders in the market sector, working with mechanical products and supplying to prestigious clients within aviation and aerospace. Reporting to and Joining the team of Manufacturing anf Quality Manager, you will be working in a fast paced environment, full of energy and drive to make a difference and succeed. As the Inspector, you will be responsible for the conformity of product straight from the machines. You will need to identify trends in conformity issues, whilst assisting the Lead Inspector in improving the culture towards quality control through the organisations. You will be taking responsibility for the dimensional inspections of both sub-contracted and in-house manufactured parts, assembled in accordance with associated technical specifications. In addition to conducting inspection in line with the relevant criterion, engineering drawings, standards and purchase orders; you will be collaborating and analysing with the supplier in the resolutions of any issues and non-conformance whilst ensuring that all maintenance and calibration of tools is carried out. What do I need? You will have experience in: A precision engineering and mechanical environment Self-inspection of machined metal components The use of engineering drawings Working to AS9100 standards Working to AS9102 standards Essentially you will have: Experience in manual measurement techniques Exposure to continuous improvement Adequate command of the English language - both written and spoken Good numeracy skills Ability to work in cross-functional process improvement teams.
