Quality Inspector Hilsea Full Time Permanent Hours Monday - Thursday 7.30am - 5.00pm with 30 minutes for lunch Fridays 7.30am - 12.30 pm This works out to be a 41 hour working week Pay Competitive rate of pay to attract the best candidate Company My client is a specialist precision engineering business providing CNC manufacturing and quick set tooling and fixtures using the latest technologies. Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Inspector to join this growing team supporting the production and manufacturing of precision engineered parts. Days to day duties will include but not be limited to:- 1. Demonstrate alignment and the ability to live and work by the companies Core Values. 2. Managing and prioritising work flow to ensure timely inspection, balancing the needs of production with final inspection in preparation for packing and dispatch. 3. Providing overtime inspection cover as required. 4. First off inspection. 5. Discussing and agreeing in process inspection with machinists to avoid patrol inspections. 6. Final inspections including completing FAIR reports when required. 7. Inspecting subcontract work. 8. Checking raw material, material certificates and delivery paperwork to purchase orders. 9. Designated signatory for the certification of release notes. 10. Receipting in completed works orders. 11. Assisting the Production Assistant on a daily basis to ensure goods for dispatch are packed and any spares appropriately allocated and stored. 12. Preparation and participation in non-conformance investigations, 8D investigations and departmental meetings. 13. Assist in maintaining calibration schedule, supplier approval schedule and other quality records. 14. Contribute to departmental meetings and continuous improvement projects. 15. Being flexible to be able to help out other departments. 16. Assisting in other general and administration tasks as required from time to time The ideal candidate will 1. Demonstrate alignment and the ability to live and work by the companies Core Values. 2. Self-starter and a team player with the desire to work in a progressive company. 3. CNC machining and engineering background. 4. Comprehensive knowledge and ability to interpret engineering drawings and geometric tolerances. 5. Extensive hands on experience of using all types of traditional measuring equipment including :- digital height gauges, shadow graphs, micrometers, digital vernier calipers, bore micrometers, pin & thread gauges etc. 6. Good organisational skills and ability to work under your own initiative . 7. You will be analytical, accurate and thorough in all aspects of your work. 8. Interactive team player, excellent communication skills. 9. Familiarity with an ISO9001:2008 quality environment, promoting and being part of continual improvement. 10. Computer literate with Microsoft Office applications. Experience with ERP/MRP software packages would be of benefit but not essential. 11. Experience of programming and using CNC / CMM's would be advantageous but not essential. The company will provide training. 12. Flexible to be able to help out in other departments. 13. Ability to manage and prioritise workload in a changing environment. 14. Have a continuous improvement focus.
