Overview

A global business in Manchester is looking to recruit an Assistant Head of Group Finance to lead a small team across Financial Reporting, Financial Control and lead interaction with the Financial Shared Service Centre. Reporting in to the Group Financial Controller, the role will lead a small team, working closely with peers across Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A), Treasury and Tax functions. Your primary accountabilties will be to support the management of the financial control function across the Group including the creation, optimisation and performance management of the Regional Financial Shared Service centres. As part of the optimisation and drive to incorporate best practice across Record-To-Report (R2R,) you will also act as R2R global process lead. You will also be responsible for, but not limited to: Ensuring relevant financial controls are in place and monitored, ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of all policies and procedures. Supporting and driving global finance policy compliance and implementation of internal/external audit recommendations. Driving the performance of the Regional Centres through monitoring of SLA's and KPI's. Supporting Commercial/Supply Chain finance teams. Optimise performance by driving best practice across the regional centres and championing contiuous improvement across the financial function. Leading the optimisation approach as R2R Global Process Lead. Supporting role in the development of new system & process roadmaps. Working with the global function & IT Business Partner to prioritise new process/system requirements. Supporting role in assessing change impacts on system & processes for new releases bi-annually. Work through sharing best practice & managing change impacts. Key Attributes/Skills: Qualified accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent) with financial control, reporting and processes experience. You will also be able to demonstrate some, or all, of the following: Global experience within a large, complex, matrix structured organization and use to working across diverse businesses, markets and cultures. Extensive experience of managing, driving and monitoring performance of Finance Shared Service Centers Extensive ERP knowledge across finance processes. Experience of succesfully driving/implement change, within Finance FMCG Experience (Highly desired) Driven and pro-active. Able to build effective, trust-worthy relationships across the organisation, particularly at senior/exec level. Able to challenge ideas appropriately and effictively, holding indidivduals to account for their decisions and flexing style to suit the individual. Able to operate effectively in ambiguous environments.
