Overview

My client in London is looking for a locum Safeguarding Adults Lead to join their department immediately. I am looking for candidates with a proven track record operating at a minimum of Social Work Team Manager level and who are competent working autonomously and travelling around Central London as part of the job. It is essential that the successful applicant be a Qualified Social Worker, Occupational Therapist or Registered Nurse and be an expert on all Safeguarding related aspects of ASC, including Domiciliary Care, Care Homes, Hospital Discharge, Reablement etc. Excellent knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act is also considered vital. To provide expert advice and guidance across Adults Services on all aspects of Safeguarding, including application of the Mental Capacity Act and Making Safeguarding Personal theory. To be highly mobile and based on different sites around Central London. To act as a Safeguarding Adults Manager (SAM) in complex cases where there is high risk to the person, or of litigation, where a person lacks capacity or where there are disputes. To develop best practice of managers and practitioners through coaching. To facilitate good inter-agency safeguarding work and to mediate and problem-solve when difficulties arise. To maintain links with the London Safeguarding Adults Network to ensure that adult Safeguarding develops in line with case law, research and national developments.
