ICT Analyst (Standby) - Hosting Job Type: Fixed Term Contract Duration: 8 months Number of Positions: 1 Number of Hours: 37 We welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need. Vacancy Number: VAC-5208 Based at: Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset (DT2) This role will require the post holder to travel to alternative locations on an ad hoc basis to undertake the role, travel expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with force policy. Principal Responsibility ICT Analysts provide a lead technical role in many ICT teams for the delivery of Infrastructure, Applications, Support and Projects. This advert is for an ICT Analyst vacancy within our Hosting Team. Therefore, we are looking for an individual to work within our ICT Hosting Team, supporting the hosting activities across the Alliance. This is an exciting time to be part of our Alliance ICT department as we invest in new systems and technologies to modernise policing. Selection Criteria: Please ensure that your application provides evidence of all the essential experience and specialist skills and knowledge required as detailed in the below bullet list as the short listing process will be assessed against these criteria: Experience of successfully working in a user-focused ICT service and project delivery environment; Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers in the delivery of end to end ICT services; Understanding of ICT security and background understanding of legal issues relating to ICT e.g. Data Protection and Computer Misuse Acts; Proven ability to analyse and use information methodically to identify problems and draw logical conclusions; Demonstrable ability to communicate complex technical information in a way meaningful to non-specialists; Understanding of PRINCE2, Agile or similar project methodology. Sound knowledge and proven experience of working with enterprise LAN/WAN's; Knowledge or practical experience of configuring routers, switches and firewalls; Knowledge or practical experience of working with enterprise wireless deployments; Knowledge or practical experience of working with network monitoring tools; Knowledge or practical experience of working with Microsoft technologies; Grade/Salary: Grade 7 The commencing salary will be within Grade 7 starting at £30,024 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £33,732 per annum. Allowances: This post attracts a standby payment (which is claimable) Stand-by and Overtime Working The role provides a 24/7 ICT Support Service requiring the post-holder to participate in an on-call (Stand-by) rota when deemed proficient to do so by the Head of ICT Services. The requirement is currently one week in every six although this may become more or less frequent depending on future ICT operational requirements. Reasonable notice will be given of any future changes to the rota. Reasonable overtime working will also be required outside of normal office hours as a result of call-outs whilst on-call, or due to planned maintenance work at nights and weekends/bank holidays that the post-holder will be required to support. Any overtime worked will be paid at the appropriate rate. An allowance, currently £30.80, is payable for each period of stand-by working (approximately £277.20 for each stand-by week, to include double payment for Saturday and Sunday working. Double payment is also applicable on bank holidays). As at 1 September 2019.
