PRODUCTION SHIFT MANAGER GLOBAL FMCG ORGANISATION £40,000- £50,000 Bonus Excellent Benefits/ Pension Fantastic Opportunity I am working exclusively with a Global/ Blue Chip manufacturing organisation who have a requirement for a career focused Production Shift Manager to join their team The role will be based from the businesses state of the art, recently built facility based in Liverpool. As a business they can offer genuine scope for career progression and development opportunities. The Role The Shift Manager will manage all staff and operational areas of a 50-plus person shift, in line with key business policies, procedures and applicable legislation. This includes producing quality products which meet customer requirements on time and to specification, in a safe and efficient manner to agreed cost standards. The Shift Manager will also be required to deputise when needed in the absence of the Operations Manager. To coordinate, via Team Leaders, all operational shift personnel, to produce quality products to schedule, whilst maintaining a safe, efficient and cost effective operation Leading and engaging the employees on shift To create and maintain a safe and hygienic working environment To continually evaluate product quality in conjunction with the Quality Auditor, implementing the required corrective actions to attain the product quality to customer standards Manage, motivate & empower operators, developing them to their full potential Monitor, measure and report on production related process performance, including general issues to root cause Ensuring company resources & support departments are used in an effective manner to ensure best operating costs Accountable for all aspects of the site at night, week-ends, or when there is no other senior management on site To maximize improvement opportunities in all areas of control, through continual review of operations and by instigating improvements where necessary and drive through any changes Control the shift's costs by minimizing spend and waste, driving cost saving ideas where appropriate Manage New Product Development trials on the line The Person The ideal candidate for this role will be highly organised and motivated Production shift manager, who will be comfortable working in a fast paced manufacturing environment. Key criteria to be consider for the role will be as follows; Proven production/ shift management experience from FMCG or food sector Some technical/ engineering career exposure would be advantageous (a background working in an engineering capacity at some stage in career) IOSH Managing Safely or alternative safety qualification would be beneficial Excellent leadership skills Understanding of Lean/ Continuous Improvement practices would be advantageous Practical approach to problem solving Microsoft Office skills The Company A high profile, globally focused Food manufacturing business with a truly global presence in their market.
