Applications Engineer
Overview
Main Tasks & Responsibilities Support new and existing customers in their effective use of the product through problem solving and document creation (datasheets, manuals) Provide first line support to product enquiries via telephone, email, and attendance at trade shows Actively support commercial discussions with appropriate technical input Nurture relationships with key customers by attending in-house customer meetings, external site visits and customer training events Set up and manage both internal and external projects as required Manage the provision of calibration services, data analysis and management Work with sales and engineering colleagues to create new product requirements including hardware, software and accessories Define technical procedures and policies with regard to customer and market support Provide technical training and support to the FT sales team and their distributors Person Specification Essential: Degree level qualification: BEng/BSc in an Engineering discipline Experience of applications support for a high technology manufactured product in an international customer-facing environment Strong customer relationship skills In-depth knowledge of electronic hardware and software Knowledge of sensor interfacing and digital and analogue communication systems at a design level Ability to communicate clearly and succinctly with a range of people, and in different media – written or spoken Committed to providing quality customer service Good team player with high standards of personal and professional integrity Results driven and timescale aware Willing to travel internationally Desirable: First degree in Electronic Engineering, MSc in Electronic Engineering Software skills in C# or Visual Basic Advanced Excel data modelling and visualisation This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/89958489
