Overview

WatchKeeper is looking for a junior graphic design / user interface specialist immediately for one-two months. WatchKeeper monitors natural disasters, violent incidents, political unrest and global health emergencies in real-time, giving organisations and government agencies complete situational awareness of adverse events occuring in close proximity to their critical operations via a single mapping display. Currently we are working to provide a common operating picture for the ongoing Covid-19 crisis. Ideal candidate: WatchKeeper is looking for a freelance Junior UI Designer to join our product team in our London office and help us build a brand new platform. If you genuinely love what you do and want to build something you are proud of, we’d like to meet you. You will be working in a fast-paced start-up, which has financing to build its full platform for delivery to clients in early summer.  This is a great opportunity to work directly alongside the CEO and CTO, being exposed to all facets of the business growth process. Responsibilities would include: • Building high-fidelity prototypes and working closely with developers as components are built into the application. • Translating design concept artwork and UX flows into interactive flows • Graphic design for icons, map markers, risk colour palettes, action buttons and other assets • Testing that UI flows are intuitive through testing with users • Finalising website design for a brand new launch • Promotional teaser video on platform functionality We want a person who is/has: • A portfolio of design work (personal or commercial projects) • Experienced using interactive prototyping tools such as figma/axure/invision • Experience designing UI for web and mobile • Clean visual design sense • Love to solve problems and take ownership • Native English speaker/writer • Eligible to work in the UK • Can work full-time in central London (this role will transition to our office once Covid-19 restrictions are lifted Bonus: • Basic frontend coding knowledge HTML/CSS/JS • UX knowledge • Keen interest in political risk, security or crisis management; • Knowledge of geospatial technologies or mapping; • Excellent academic background What you will get from us: • Flexible working hours • Plenty of responsibility and different challenges every day • Regular contact with the co-founders (CEO and CTO) • Hands-on involvement in growing a start-up and the opportunity to work at the grass-roots of building a business • Excellent career growth opportunity • Potential opportunity for full time employment • Great office location in the heart of Clerkenwell, London.
