Overview

Our client a Legal Body based in Central London is looking for an organised and enthusiastic Conference Organiser/Administrator to start ASAP. Please note that some flexibility is required as there will be long working hours when on-site at Conferences. The main duties of the Conference Organiser/Administrator are: To research, select and negotiate contracts for conference and social function venues To prepare conference budgets and final account analyses To co-ordinate and compile the conferences printed programmes Responsible for liaison with venues regarding food/beverage and audio-visual requirements Responsible for speaker management, preparing and distribution of speaker letters, and audio-visual requests and presentations Coordination through data input of conference registrations - production of acknowledgement letters, statements, badges, list of applicants Dealing with incoming phone calls, email queries including registration queries To provide onsite staffing and to have overall responsibility for the smooth running of the conference Any other ad hoc duties that may be required by the Director from time to time The successful candidate will be educated to A level standard and have previous experience in an event/conference organiser role. You need to have good communication and written skills, be helpful, friendly, positive and have an outgoing attitude. You need to have a clear telephone manner, able to deal with people of different nationalities, able to work on own initiative and take on new responsibilities and challenges but also be a team player. You need to have a flexible and positive attitude and have working knowledge of all Microsoft packages.
