Job Role: Electrical Design Engineer Job Type: Contract Duration: 6 Months Industry: Defence/Aerospace Location: Gloucestershire Rate: £/hr Profile Our client is an established training solutions provider working in the defence/aerospace industry. After a successful year of sustained growth and substantial contract wins they are looking to supplement their growing engineering team with Electrical Design Engineers in order to meet current demands. Job Role Reporting to the engineering manager and having accountability to the project electrical leader for the technical development and progress of assigned project tasks; the individual shall work as part of a team and be responsible for the production of product design documentation; against physical and functional performance requirements, including compliancy with safety standards. The role includes production of parts lists and part data entry into the company MRP database. Duties -Proven knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems Design. -Multi axis motion control design experience using digital and analogue I/O using PLC ladder logic. -Experience of digital and analogue I/O (CANBUS or similar). -Engineering design and commission of specialised automated machinery from first principles -19” rack mounted enclosures and sub-rack unit design. -EMI, RFI shielding design experience. -Good understanding of transmission of low voltage, high bandwidth signals and processing. -Producing detailed design drawings using CAD or alternative OrCAD software. -Conduct/organise design development technical trials and testing where required. -Able to effectively liaise with production, subcontractors and customers as required. -Prepared to travel in UK to customer and subcontractor facilities as necessary also to travel abroad if requested Experience/Qualifications -Machinery Directive, Low Voltage Directive & EMC Directive. -Frequency inverters / motion control. -Electrical power distribution. -Development of products (bench development, testing). -Fault finding to component level -Excellent data management and documentation skills -Good office computer skills in a range of Microsoft applications.
