Overview

My client is looking for a General Manager to manage the Events on its Private Estate as well as the substantial Refurbished Hotel which is finalising its stages and then will go into pre-opening phase over the next 3 months. The property will have 62 Bedrooms and a spa complex. This will be a lifestyle move with Carlisle being the main focus as a major town surrounded by some stunning countryside in the glorious villages and smaller towns. The property is rural focused but is within 15 minutes of Carlisle. The General manager sought is likely to come from a strong background in good sized hotels, that are 4 star plus. Our clients will not be interested if your background is 3 star or below. The property will have a turnover of approaching 6 million. The quality of dining is high end and will attract a lot of attention, so you will have a good understanding of food and beverages, but also have skills in sales, marketing and rooms. You will be driven and ambitious to grow and establish yourself with the company, this is not a role to see out your final days in the industry. You will be bouncing around, inspiring and managing your team, creating innovative ways of expanding the business the property will enjoy. You will be passionate about standards and be focused on developing the skillset across your team. You will be able to demonstrate at interview your business plan and will be expected to present your plan through the interview process. Schools are good, lifestyle is good, clean country air, great house prices whether renting or buying. The hotel where you will currently work will have a turnover of 3.5 million plus and will have different departments where revenue will come from different streams.
