Job Title: Privacy and Compliance Specialist Vacancy Type: Permanent Daily rate £40k - £50k Location: Leeds To act as Subject Matter Expert in Data Protection and contribute to all aspects of the company wide Compliance Program. Specific focus will be to ensure that the central functions (Marketing, HR, and Finance) perform their business processes in line with the core principles of privacy, security, resilience, and quality – focusing on regulatory compliance, risk reduction, and continual process improvement. Gold (standard) ‘Investors in People’ Top 25 - Glassdoor 2019 Employees' Choice Best Place to Work Role 1) Provide practical data protection advice, guidance and assistance to stakeholders across the central functions. 2) Ensure the appropriate management of classified and personal data including: a) Identification and logging of personal data and processes within ROPA / Privacy Platform b) appropriate classification, protection, handling, access and retention of information assets 3) Risk Management a) Work with colleagues within the Central Functions to determine where Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) are required and assist with the performance of DPIAs ready for final review by DPO. b) Identify, log, articulate and escalate Privacy, Information Security and Business Continuity risks c) Work with management and technical teams to develop and agree prioritized plans for improvements where appropriate. Skills: 1) Qualifications: Degree level or professional qualification - preferably CIPP/E or similar. 2) Technical: Possess demonstrable detailed knowledge and understanding of data protection regulations – specifically DPA 2018, GDPR, PECR. Possess demonstrable experience in the implementation of a data protection compliance within a large/complex organisation. Possess non-specialist level of understanding of data security challenges from an Information Security perspective. 3) Analysis: Highly developed analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.Ability to analyse and understand business processes, policies and practices and to assess privacy and security risks. 4) Communication: Strong communication skills in English across both written and verbal mediums. 4) Personal: Able to tactfully influence peers and possess sufficient self-confidence to question the veracity of a process description and/or the appropriateness of a process design.
