Overview
IT Systems Administrator £30,000 - £45,000 (negotiable on experience level) Permanent City of London Main responsibilities and duties: - Provide 2nd-3rd line end-user desktop support in a predominantly Microsoft Windows 10 environment, connected to Office365 and with some Mac OS and iOS devices. - Act as a point of escalation for issues when necessary with external support providers. - Monitor IT tickets and regularly chasing support suppliers in case of pending issues - Manage: - operation, support, configuration and maintenance of a Microsoft Windows Client/Server infrastructure, including upgrades and patching of OS and applications - Active Directory and Exchange - VoIP platform (currently 8x8) - Azure environments - Maintain: - the network infrastructure (LAN switches, routers, firewalls and access points) and liaise with third part support - on-prem and cloud security and compliance - technical documentation and procedures for internal IT management and users? - Perform ongoing monitoring and maintenance of all servers and network equipment - Assist with the implementation of Office365 applications across the business (SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Platform, etc.) - Keep up-to-date with modern technologies which will benefit the business Knowledge and Experience: - Minimum of 3 years working in a Windows-based infrastructure & networking role, ideally as a System Administrator - Knowledge of: - desktop technologies, including Microsoft Windows 7 & 10, Mac OS, iOS & Microsoft Office packages including O365. - Windows server (2012, 2016 & beyond)-based environment including Active Directory, Group Policies - Cloud Computing (Azure/Google/AWS) - Server hardware, software (MCSA, MCSE, MCP, CompTIA, A, N, Server, Security,) - Networking - Cisco/HP/Ubiquiti switches (protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSL,TLS) - Firewalls management (i.e. WatchGuard, Cisco) - Windows & Mac deployment services (WDS, MDT & WSUS, JAMF and the like) - LANS / WANS and able to support infrastructure (switches, access points, routers and firewalls). - Scripting languages (PowerShell or Bash) - Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, flexible approach, professional attitude, willingness to own issues and work until they are resolved
