Overview

Payroll Administrator, £20,000 - £25,000, Full Time, Penrith (Outskirts) We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to operate a busy payroll of up to 1000 weekly time sheets. The position will involve the successful person paying employees accurately, calculating pay and deductions, and on time by BACS. The role comes with a salary of up to £25,000 depending on experience. The hours are 8:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday, inclusive with an hour unpaid break. This is an opportunity to join a busy, friendly office reporting to the Payroll Manager. There will be regular contact with customers, managers and colleagues so we are looking for a confident, polite person who is willing to get stuck in and work hard as part of a small team. We are looking for someone who is able to analyse information, perform data entry tasks with accuracy whilst maintaining confidentiality. You will need to be a highly numerate person who has excellent communication skills. Duties and responsibilities include; • Maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data • Update payroll records, computer and manual • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages • Determine payroll liabilities by calculating employee Tax,NI and salary sacrifice for pension and employer's tax and NI and pension contribution • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information • Provide payroll information by answering questions and requests • Maintain payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes • Maintain employee confidence and protect payroll operations by keeping information confidential • Complete all paperwork accurately and submit within required time scales System People operate as a recruitment agency in this instance
