Overview

We are recruiting for Residential Support Worker’s for our Children’s Homes in Rugeley supporting young people with learning difficulties. As a residential support worker you will be a key member of our children’s home team in Rugeley, providing high standards of person-centred support to our young people throughout their day-to-day life. You will provide support through a creative and caring approach, which builds good relationships with both students and their families, supporting them in the planning of goals and in living as independently as possible at our children’s home. The Children’s Homes and Rugeley School provide support for children and young people aged 5 to 19 with autism and moderate to severe learning difficulties. The homes provide a modern setting in which young people can achieve an enhanced degree of emotional stability through an active approach to learning. Young people are able to engage in daily life with increased confidence, self-esteem, dignity and independence. Successful applicants will be required to provide a range of support services including help with personal care and helping to develop social skills and home skills to students in their residential setting. This is a physically demanding role as a residential support worker you will need to have the confidence to deal with the challenging behaviour that autism can present. Rugeley Children’s homes work on a rolling rota As a support worker you will need to be flexible and willing to work rotating shifts covering week days and weekends, early shift 7am to 4pm and a late is 3pm to 22.30pm. The role does not require any contractual ‘sleep-in’ duties.
