Overview

Vistra is looking to recruit for an Assistant Manager - Statutory Reporting based out of our Bristol Office. To work as part of the Compliance team, in ensuring the timely delivery of year-end locally compliant statutory financial statements for predominantly US based clients. The ideal candidate will be newly/part (final stages) ACA/ACCA qualified with experience in preparing UK statutory accounts and the desire to expand their knowledge of European accounting obligations and standards. The candidate will also need to have strong people, project and technical communication skills as the role requires working with internal and external teams across the world. Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with relevant internal and external stakeholders. Adopt a direct client facing role for a portfolio of clients, taking responsibility for all client communications for compliance work in all countries, working with regional teams to manage delivery of compliance filings. Ensure that the statutory accounts are prepared and provided to the clients within agreed terms and to Vistra standards. Gain a full understanding of the reporting and local GAAP requirements relevant to the countries allocated. Ensure that all statutory accounts are completed in line with individual country reporting timelines and specific client requirements. Keep abreast of developments in statutory accounts and local UK GAAP changes that will impact the client base. Attributes/Technical Skills: Ideally newly/part qualified (final states) in UK ACCA, ICAEW, or similar qualifications with comprehensive specialist knowledge of relevant practices, industry trends and issues in statutory accounting. Good organisation skills and experience managing multiple client deliverables at one time. Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal, as will be working with colleagues in multiple locations (including India and Singapore), and communicating with senior client employees. Proactive use of systems to facilitate workflow management and deadline management across a number of clients. Organised and results driven, able to work in team managing multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Relevant Experience: Experience of preparation and delivery of statutory accounts to clients for review and approval. Experience of external statutory audit process - Vistra does not provide audit services to clients, Vistra facilitates the audit process by acting as the main point of contact for routine audit queries for clients. Experience of preparation and review of UK corporate tax returns would be an advantage but not a requirement. There would be an opportunity to undertake some corporate income tax work on clients, if desired. Education/Memberships: Newly or part qualified UK ACCA, ICAEW qualified or similar. Qualified by experience also considered. Computer Skills: MS Office skills.
