Jacobs Framework Overview: The Nuclear New Build (NNB) team are the Programme Management Partner for the Client at Hinkley Point C. This dynamic Team provide support to Buildings & Civils: Project Management & delivery of Building and Civil Work on the main construction site: 1. Conventional Island 2. Balance of Plant 3. Nuclear Island Specific work packages include: 1. Earthworks 2. Main Civil Works 3. Marine Works 4. Heat Sink 5. Project management & co-ordination of multi-disciplinary team to deliver scope Client Overview: Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site, based in West Somerset, 15 miles from Bridgwater. The NNB ambition is to build two major EPR nuclear plants. The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy. Construction and operation of Hinkley Point C will create 25,000 employment opportunities, up to 1,000 apprenticeships and 64% of the project's construction value is predicted to go to UK companies. There are currently over 3,100 workers on site. Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UK's move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan. Hinkley Point 'C' (HPC) is a vital part of the UK's future energy strategy. As the first of the UK's next generation of Nuclear power stations, HPC is both of high profile and high complexity. The project is delivered through an organisation that comprises multi-disciplinary teams. Role Overview: The Client Programme Team within New Nuclear Build is currently responsible for delivery of a number of contracts and the Assistant Project Manager is likely to work within such a team and will have a diverse role within it supporting delivery of work during all project phases within tasks areas that might include: 1. Nuclear Construction Excellence support 2. Health and Safety culture reporting 3. Quality reporting 4. Schedule review and progress reporting 5. Financial assessment and budget reporting 6. Contract administration support and reporting 7. Risk and Opportunity management synopsis and reporting 8. Deliverable development of contract scope 9. Stakeholder liaison and influencing 10. Joint Management Team Membership The team works closely with other NNB teams, including Commercial, Procurement, Construction. Project in Scope for this role: Pressure & Unclassified Equipment projects Discipline required - Mechanical Role is within the, Equipment Team, based in Client office, Bristol City Centre Main Responsibilities will include: Coordination and recording meetings with key project stakeholders (internal & external). Supporting, coordination and attending Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and Joint Management Team meetings. Organisation and coordination of Technical Engineering, Cost, Contractor and Scheduling meetings on behalf of the Programme Manager.
