Overview

Operating within the highly competitive Technology infrastructure market, this household name is a leading primary contractor to major infrastructure groups in the public & private sectors, specialising in delivering niche ICT communication networks, operational systems, integration services and consultancy to their blue-chip client base. Continuing to experience strong growth across all revenue channels, the business has ambitious expansion plans and is currently seeking a Project Director to lead a large complex project, value c.£100m - £400m; programmes will replace legacy technology systems with new single UK wide centralised management system (CMS) to control infrastructure IT, Power, Comms etc. for various customers. You will be responsible for strategic and individual project operations direction, as well as guiding & managing large teams 50-100 people, delivering "Transformed Network" programmes end-to-end; this will involve the execution of design and build contracts, development, supply, installation and integration of multiple technologies, testing and commissioning technical solutions. This is a broad & varied role encompassing: •Directing & managing contract scope and deal with & promote significant levels of customer change & transformation •Continually supporting & improving new systems into diverse customer locations •Promote the acceleration of all design review phases to meet the contract & customer needs •Programme delivery of CMS and Communications (telecoms, messaging etc.) in a digital, cloud-based server & secure network environment supporting distributed SCADA control & monitoring, including cloud-based telecoms, alongside secure business continuity data centre solutions •Training: system and configuration management facilities •IT Infrastructure: Workstations, CMS and Communications interfaces in multiple locations •Cyber Security System: Security Risk management, SIEM (Security Incident Event Monitor), Firewalls etc. •Replacement of Legacy methods, processes & systems: e.g. manual, electro-mechanical control systems at multiple customer locations •Be a key member supporting the bidding & contract management teams for renewal and new business tenders •Promote Agile methodologies in the development processes for Technology delivery & BAU management •Lead, recruit & develop the project team based at multiple locations and nurture new project managers in the Graduate Training Scheme, as well as mentor & coach staff As a significantly experienced Project Director or Senior Project Manager, you must have demonstrable experience in modern approaches to project management techniques, methodologies and approaches, the ability to challenge the status quo and deliver value enhanced services to customers. Additionally, you will need to have: - -Strong staff management, excellent knowledge and in-depth experience in coaching projects and project team members -Experience in leading large, multi-disciplinary and distributed teams -Employee engagement and enablement with a track record in motivating teams -High-level knowledge of the IT industry and infrastructure services (IT, Power, comms) -Previous working experience of customer/supplier services & 3rd party services and contracts -Good business knowledge and ability to effectively manage a cost centre, Project P&L -Proven success in managing a profitable Infrastructure technology service led organisation -Strong strategic thinking skill & capability You will get the chance to work at the forefront of a globally recognised Infrastructure and technology service provider, with the opportunity to take charge of a growing, dynamic and highly successful business.
