Overview

Position: Credit Controller Salary: £20k - £24k plus bonus Working Hours: 8:30am - 5:00pm Full Time Mon - Fri Job Requirements: Good grades at GCSE level, particularly in Maths Punctual, reliable and confident Qualifications or training in bookkeeping or accounts Computer skills, particularly with excel spreadsheets and using computerised accounts software - i.e Quickbooks or Xero - this is essential Previous experience in office work, customer service or accounts - preferably have worked within an office for a construction company before Duties: Making contact with people whose payment is overdue and explaining their terms of credit - this requires good spoken and written skills Calculating and processing invoices for customers/debtors Renegotiating repayment plans with people - you’ll need to have an assertive but tactful manner with good negotiation skills General admin duties: filing, typing and telephone manner Using excel databases to check credit records and set up new entries - administrative and computer skills Ensure customers have received their invoice/s, pay on time and chase any overdue invoices Processing payments - an organised, methodical approach and good numeracy Starting legal proceedings if debts are not paid and arranging for the repossession of goods to recover unpaid debts - the ability to work to strict deadlines Possible payroll experience We are an independent recruitment agency who are celebrating our 40th year of supporting local candidates find local opportunities.
