THE ISLAND FREE SCHOOL Job profile: ICT Support Technician - (with Learning Support) Starting date: ASAP Location: Ventnor, Isle of Wight Contract type: Full time Contract term: Permanent Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience (Within the range £17,165) Applications are welcome from those with a genuine interest in education. The Island Free School is a small, state funded secondary school on the Isle of Wight offering a fully academic curriculum. All pupils follow the English Baccalaureate, plus three option subjects, to achieve a minimum of eight good GCSEs. We take pupils from all backgrounds and give them the confidence and ambition to succeed in a competitive world. To balance our academically rigorous curriculum we have invested heavily in the development of a wide ranging extra-curricular enrichment programme. Our vision is of a comprehensive grammar school: a school that combines the rigour and standards of an old fashioned grammar school with a genuinely comprehensive intake. This vision has proved popular with local parents and the school has been oversubscribed since opening in 2014. We seek to appoint a professional, personable and efficient ICT Support Technician who has the flexibility to offer classroom support to some of our pupils. You should have the necessary skills to support the running ICT system and devices. If you have experience with Theatre and Drama this may also be an advantage. Be a problem solver. The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the following tasks as a minimum: . Administration of email and data services (Google Drive, Gmail etc.) . Ensure integrity of backups and respond and escalate where required . Under the direction of the IT Manager provide a timely response to all ICT incidents . In support of the IT Manager, maintain user permissions, add changes and amend users (Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy Management) . Under direction of IT Manager, maintain the asset management register for all ICT devices . Under the direction of IT Manager, assist with the maintenance of user devices . Initiate random checking of all ICT equipment . Monitor electronic IT equipment booking system . Assist with stage management duties . Desirable - experience of theatre lighting and sound equipment . Model good practice . Promote Independent Learning . Develop pupil study and orgnaisational skills and reinforce learning . Work in collaboration with teaching and other staff in support of specific outcomes . Supervise practical tasks . Promote inclusion . Undertake training as and when required . Supervise pupils at break and lunchtime (rota) . Support and participate in enrichment activities .
