THE COMPANY: Apointe are parenting a high growth delivery business based in Oxfordshire, servicing multi-national e-commerce customers and national last mile delivery companies. THE ROLE: Reporting into the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will be responsible for putting in place best in class finance systems and processes and ensuring that all aspects of the Company’s finance department are operating smoothly. The role will be a hands-on role and will include the management of the finance teams. The individual will be expected to contribute to the strategic thinking of the Company and will be a key member of the management team. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY: Preparing accurate management accounts on a monthly basis, including forecast cashflow, budget comparison and operational data. The reports should provide relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards that can be interpreted by management to make decisions. Liaising with international accountants to review their management accounts and consolidate the results to summarise the group position for the UK management accounts and Board reports. Preparing the annual consolidated financial statements and managing the external audit process. Managing and reporting on company tax position - including Corporation tax, VAT and PAYE. Managing all the company’s transactional accounting, making sure that all accounting distributions are properly made and accounted for, including: o All cash management and accounts payable. o Receivables. o Disbursing of cash. o Payroll and bank settlement functions; and o Capital expenditure. Put in place an on-going forecasting and budgeting process. Provide decision support for company decision making. Manage all financial compliance and the internal control environment. Managing the finance team and ensuring that their development and performance needs are met; and Running a project to upgrade the company’s finance systems. REPORTING TO: Finance Director QUALIFICATIONS: ACA qualified REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: Rapidly develop a thorough understanding of the logistics industry and the market sector we operate within Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite of products, especially Excel Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) Strong attention to detail and diligence The ability to report at Senior Management and Board level; and Living within a reasonable commute of Abingdon
