Corporate & Global Account Handler

Aston Charles Ltd ,
Reading, Berkshire
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £25,000 per annum

Overview

This is a superb time to be joining this thriving business that is performing tremendously; it is due to post near double-digit growth figures, has recently acquired a number of six-figure income accounts, and boasts staff / client satisfaction survey results that are through the roof Due to the number of quality clients won, it seeks to invest in the Corporate Team further with the hire of an additional Senior / Account Handler. Here, you will play a key part in the management of a portfolio of circa 10 clients, each generating between £25K - £75K fee income. There is some scope to tweak your client allocation to reflect your skills, experience and ambitions, but it is anticipated that your portfolio will include clients from such sectors as Tech, Food & Beverage, Retail and Life Sciences. Working in close conjunction with Account Executives and Directors, you will be responsible for developing a sound understanding of your clients’ businesses in order to ensure they have a robust programme. Where gaps in cover exist, you will produce professional, and accurate reports that highlight appropriate solutions to mitigate these risks. Mindful that client service is key, the Branch Director will actively encourage you to accompany Account Executives on site to build rapport with key personnel. You will be responsible for negotiation with Underwriters (local and London Market) in order to obtain the most comprehensive cover at competitive premiums. As you would expect from a portfolio including big name, blue chip PLC’s, many of these clients have complex overseas exposures and require local representation, so you will be dealing with colleagues and partner brokers across the globe. Whilst it is not essential that you have previously dealt with corporate accounts in the £25K - £75K income range, you must have experience of dealing with middle market business as a minimum. It is essential that you have a sound understanding of all common commercial covers, such as Property, Liability, BI, Fleet and Financial Lines. You should also have excellent communication and report writing skills, be well-organised and diligent in your approach. Whilst by no means essential, progress made towards processional qualifications under the CII would add weight to your application. The Branch Director is very focused on "building a business for the future - a friendly, supportive and respectful team who are in it for the long-term, who wish to grow with the company and create something really special." He particularly welcomes applications from those who can demonstrate 'diversity of thought’, think of innovative new ways to deliver great client service, and challenge the status quo in a positive fashion. In return, you will also benefit from a generous basic salary (completely negotiable) and a comprehensive range of 'flexible benefits’ and support towards professional qualifications.
